About the project
Client: a private instructor and makeup artist selling an original makeup course. The high course price ($450–$900) demanded a special approach: cold audiences don't buy expensive products on the first touch.
Task
Sell the original makeup artistry course through Facebook and Instagram with a return of at least $3 profit for every $1 invested.
Strategy
To sell a high-ticket educational product I used a content funnel: first a warm-up through useful content, then conversion ads.
What I did
- Launched promotion of useful video content (a makeup technique mini-lesson) — cheap reach and audience warm-up
- Collected an audience of users who watched the video to the end — a warm segment with high interest
- Ran conversion ads to the course sales page targeting the warm audience
- Created a 1% lookalike from buyers of previous course cohorts
- Used Instagram Stories with a countdown timer to create scarcity
Results over 1 month
- 4 course sales (high ticket)
- Ad investment: $450
- Profit: $3,550
- ROI: 689%
Conclusion
High-ticket products require a warm-up. The two-stage funnel (content → conversion) makes it possible to sell expensive courses on a limited budget by targeting an already warm audience with precision.
